Alert Flyer Stop FCC Complete Takeover of Wireless Deployment flyer 10-14
Federal Communications Commission proposes vast new rulemaking that will remove all local control over wireless infrastructure.
WT Docket No. 25-276: “Build America: Eliminating Barriers to Wireless Deployments”
This rulemaking will fast-track macro towers, small cells, base stations, and antennas into our communities, overriding our ability to protect public health, aesthetics, environmental safety, and local zoning.
This is not just a technical adjustment. This may be the FCC’s Rubicon — a point of no return where federal overreach replaces local democracy. Once crossed, we will lose the ability to say “No” to towers near schools, homes, parks, and historic or scenic sites.
What’s at Stake:
• Loss of local permitting rights- no setbacks, no proof of RF radiation compliance
• Federal override of concealment and aesthetic protections
• Accelerated deployment timelines that silence community input
• Potential expansion of AI-driven infrastructure with no public oversight
• Our inability to stop cell sites for any reason. No due processWhat You Can Do:

All letter and paper filings must be addressed to the Secretary Marlene Dortch, Federal Communications Commission: 45 L Street NE, Washington, DC 20554.
Right now, because of the government shut down, 25-276 hasn’t yet appeared in the Federal Register. The docket is now open so anyone can submit comments Standard or Express, but presently there’s no way to view any of our submitted comments, so they’re in a holding pattern. By the way, we’ve been told that standard filings have a better chance of getting read, but express comments also matter for numbers.
For standard e-filed docket comments, people should have a letter already written and then attach it in the docket (there’s a prompt at the bottom of the standard submission screen).
Thank you for taking action on this dangerous FCC Proposed Rulemaking!
