Woman restores analog meter to protect husband

Susan Beckman, a children’s TV show producer who lives near Lompoc in Santa Barbara County, has removed a Smart Meter from her home and replaced it with an analog meter to protect her husband.  In response to this act Susan stated a PG&E representative has threatened  to “bring the police and turn off her power.”

Misled by PG&E into thinking she could refuse the new meter when the installers arrived, a Smart Meter was installed without her knowledge.  She started to hear a buzz  and a loud hum in the house and noticed feeling extremely fatigued with aching joints, a rash and feeling flu-like.  After some investigation she discovered the new meter on her house.  She was also very concerned about her husband.  She writes, “My 89 year old husband has had cancer removed and the smart meter installed a few feet from where he spends about 80% of his time in his den.”

Susan then called PG&E and spoke to several representatives with whom she said made “demeaning comments” and they refused to remove the meter.  Finally, she talked with one who was actually sympathetic who told her she could buy an analog meter and replace it, which she did, with her own hands, with guidance from an electrician.  She said she, “wore gloves, turned the main power off, clipped the lock, took the collar off and used a lot pressure to pull it off.” The electrician checked it out and verified it was done correctly.

She then sent registered letters, reviewed by her attorney to PG&E.  In an email to the California Public utilities Commission Susan writes that PG&E Smart Meter agent “Dennis Weidman, before losing his patience and hanging up on me, said tomorrow he will bring the police and turn off our electricity.”

To be continued…

9/23/2011 PG&E has not turned off her power and a local newspaper wrote up her story:

Local woman confronts PG&E over ‘smart meter’

  1. This woman has the ABSOLUTE RIGHT to remove this unsafe, cancer-causing, privacy violating “Smart Meter.”

The California Public Utilities Commission’s mission statement is to defend, protect and “better the lives of all Californians through … policies and regulation.”

The California State Constitution also states Article 1 Declaration of Rights § 1. “ All people are by nature free and independent and have inalienable rights. Among these are enjoying and defending life and liberty, acquiring, possessing, and protecting property, and pursuing and obtaining safety, happiness, and privacy.”

The California Public Utilities Code § 328-328.2 states “The Legislature finds and declares both of the following: (a) In order to ensure that all core customers of a gas
corporation continue to receive safe basic gas service in a competitive market, each existing gas corporation should continue to provide this essential service. (b) No customer should have to pay separate fees for utilizing services that protect public or customer safety.”

Hundreds & Thousands of scientific studies have proven that unsafe levels of non-ionizing radiation are emitted from wireless Smart Meters. http://www.wave-guide.org/library/studies.html

If these public servants do not put the safety, health & welfare of the public at first place and do not abide by their constitutional, ethical and lawful duty to protect & defend the public from harm then these entities must be brought to swift Justice.

  2. Please, please keep us updated on this brave, brave woman. If I were anywhere near there, I’d come stand constant guard outside her home right beside her. Anyone within at least 50 miles should be doing the same. This is when the solidarity needs to leave the internet and move butts in the physical world. If those scumbags do come to this woman’s house, they should meet with a massive number of armed people.

  3. Is this what it has come to in the United States of America; each of us fighting just to have a healthy and safe home? I can only imagine what would be happening now if the public at large really knew what was going on! We must guard against the “normalcy bias”. We tend to think big government has our best interest at heart. This is tyranny on a very basic level!
Special thanks go out to economist, Catherine Austin Fitts for her Smart Meter comments (9/9/11) on the nationally syndicated radio show, Coast to Coast Am. Her voice was heard by millions.
This weekend we remember and salute all patriots who truly defend liberty.
