I had to check this out, but I could only stand to watch 3 minutes of it.
Anyone can make a video and spew out a bunch of false and misleading information, but that doesn’t mean that it is in any way the truth.
This is just another egghead science fiction propaganda piece.
Even though I only saw 3 minutes of it, there is no way that they could correct the falsehoods in the rest of it.
It is videos like this one that do a great dis-service to our fight against the government/corporations. To me, it looks like this video was made by AT&T and PG&E in a “joint venture”. We’ll see how this video does at the box office.

Cyber security problems have been with us for a long time, but the video forgot to mention that the electrical power grids in this country are very old and have not been upgraded to being smart yet.
I read in a trade publication about how there is a plan to start upgrading our regional electric power grids into a national power grid. This nationwide project will start in about a year, cost $300 BILLION and take 10 years to complete. Once it is complete, it could possibly be hacked, but that is not at all possible now since our SCADA controls are 40 years old, and so are our transformers.
The video showed shots of a power plant and said that some have been hacked. That is completely false in this country, and I know of one instance where a power plant in Iran was hacked and infested with a computer virus.
I think the biggest falsehood about this video, is that they mention the radio “smart grid” in the same sentence as the electrical power grid. They are completely separate systems. The radio “smart grid” is strictly for revenue collection, and the outage detection feature on the meters is useless.
PG&E has announced that is going to be upgrading our power grid as part of the national plan in one to two years. The project has been approved by the CPUC and will cost us $300 million and take 10 years to complete.
This project will most likely upgrade all the local transformers to being what they call “smart”. And sensors will be installed along each circuit coming out of the substations at intervals on the transformers. These sensors will tell the power grid operators directly in real time how much power is being used in an area, report outages quickly and accurately, and yes, can detect theft from people diverting power away from the meters. These sensors are before the meters.
There is one corporation that I read about that is proposing a new radio system that would eliminate the need for taking each transformer off line and replacing it with an electronic one. Instead, it will transmit usage data from the transformers on a radio channel directly to the operators of the power grid, and that would be for outage detection functions too.
Obviously, the makers of this video have never heard about any of the plans to upgrade our power grids in this country. It appears that they think that the new radio revenue collection system that they call a “smart grid” is all that is going to be done.
The “smart grid” is just the revenue collection system so that was done first, it has nothing at all to do with the electrical power grid which is the generation, transmission and distribution of electrical power on wires.
The SmartMeters and their smart grid are not necessary at all to upgrade the electrical power grids, the sole purpose of the SmartMeter project was to automate meter reading and eliminate meter reading jobs, and that turned out to be a failure because the utilities like PG&E did not want to used advanced meters and a radio system that can measure the bi- directional flow of electricity. So they will never be able to eliminate all the meter readers. But, PG&E and everyone else involved made a huge profit off of the forced selling all this wireless junk made in foreign sweatshops and marking it up 1000 percent to their ratepayers.
Hydro is a business a corporation and a monopoly. Could it be there is something more?
Total and complete control as to what is going on in your home? The time you start to cook or wash your laundry. When you are on holidays and when you come back> You pay the bill, but for what? Health issues, privacy concerns ever mounting bills, the danger to your home in the form of fires etc., You pay for that??? Well how about sending B.C.Hydro a bill for giving them the opportunity to make uses of all these facilities Can you imagine if we started to send Hydro a statement for use of property than we receiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiving one? and though it was not my original intention, I decided to take advantage of the available blank comment box to share with him my unrelieved dismay at having my
home tnasformed into a laboratory for the purpose of experimenting on me. The experimental apparatus luckily is still not fully in place, but how could I not fret?
I will, if I may, share my comment here. If my perceptions of reality are amiss, I

Let me add that I voted for Governor Brown, and do not believe him to be a moral imbecile, if I may use an old fashioned term for the underlying pathology manifesting in this colossal betrayal of millions of Californians, in a heinous way, by people holding official government positions of trust.
Also, I have not seen Attorney General Harris do anything to intervene on behalf of the victimized captive utility customers nor to correct the deceitful claim that the wifi meter device technology is safe.
Is it not likely that the AG may be compelled to act in defense of the rogue CPUC five commissioners as the AG of CA.?
That would be worse than adding insult to injury; to defend people who deserted their mandate for the purpose of facilitating deployment of harmful devices/ technology on the dwellings of captive utility customers whose protection and safety was their mandate ? The AG, at captive utility customer taxpayer expense, would defend the commissioners actions of consigning hapless captive customers ‘ dwellings into laboratories for conducting unauthorized unethical and illegal [Nuremberg Code 10 Points incorporated in CA law] scientific medical experiments inducing a 24/7 hostile EMF matrix which will very likely, slowly over an extended time period induce physical harm, chronic ill health and premature death [murder]?”
